In May 2025, the 2025 International Conference on Environmental Monitoring and Ecological Restoration (EMER 2025), co-organized by Tianjin University of Science and Technology and the Tianjin Municipal Engineering Research Center for Marine Environmental Protection and Restoration Technologies, with support from Hebei University of Technology, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), and Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT), was successfully held online. The conference brought together leading global scholars in environmental science to discuss cutting-edge technologies and strategies for pollution control, ecological restoration, and sustainable development, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and innovative solutions.

Speech Title: Constructing a Highly Active Photocatalytic System Based on Defect Engineering for Water Pollution Control

In the keynote speeches session, Prof. Shengqi Guo from Hebei University of Technology delivered the first keynote speech titled “Constructing a Highly Active Photocatalytic System Based on Defect Engineering for Water Pollution Control”. His team’s research on defect-engineered photocatalytic materials demonstrates enhanced degradation efficiency for industrial wastewater, validated through national projects, offering novel strategies for pollution mitigation.

Speech Title: Current Status of Micro- and Nanoplastic Pollution and Prospects for Plastic Mitigation under the“Substituting Bamboo for Plastics” Initiative

Prof. Dunzhu Li, a National-level Talent at Zhejiang A&F University, presented on “Current Status of Micro- and Nanoplastic Pollution and Prospects for Plastic Mitigation under the“Substituting Bamboo for Plastics” Initiative”. He proposed electrochemical degradation techniques and highlighted bamboo as a sustainable alternative to plastics. His work, published in Nature Food and Environmental Science & Technology, has garnered significant international attention.

Prof. Syed Abdul Rehman Khan from Xuzhou University of Technology explored the role of IoT and blockchain in environmental governance. He emphasized that integrating smart monitoring systems with green supply chains could enhance resource efficiency and support global carbon neutrality efforts.

Sixteen young scholars from institutions including Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, and Nanjing Tech University presented their research in the oral session. Topics spanned water remediation, heavy metal soil treatment, and low-carbon material development, showcasing the diversity and applicability of environmental science research.


The conference concluded at 17:40. The organizing committee affirmed that the EMER conference series will continue to serve as a global platform for academic and industrial collaboration, advancing technological innovation in environmental monitoring and ecological restoration.


2025年环境监测与生态修复国际学术会议(EMER 2025)圆满落幕


2025年5月,由天津科技大学、天津市海洋环境保护与修复技术工程中心联合协办,河北工业大学、马来西亚理科大学(USM)、马来西亚登嘉楼大学(UMT)共同支持的"2025年环境监测与生态修复国际学术会议(EMER 2025)"通过线上平台成功举办。会议汇聚了全球环境科学领域的顶尖学者,围绕环境污染治理、生态修复技术及可持续发展等议题展开深度探讨,旨在推动跨学科合作与创新解决方案的落地。


会议组委会对与会学者表示热烈欢迎,并强调本次会议致力于推动环境科学向更高水平发展,助力全球可持续发展目标。


河北工业大学教授、博士生导师郭盛祺发表了题为 onstructing a Highly Active Photocatalytic System Based on Defect Engineering for Water Pollution Control 的首场主旨报告。郭教授团队通过缺陷工程优化光催化材料性能,显著提升了污染物降解效率,其成果已在多个国家级项目中得到验证,为解决工业废水治理难题提供了新思路。


浙江农林大学国家级人才李敦柱教授聚焦微纳塑料污染现状及"以竹代塑"战略下的治理前景。他提出基于电化学技术的塑料降解方法,并强调竹材料的规模化应用可有效减少塑料对生态系统的长期危害。其研究成果发表于《Nature Food》《Environmental Science & Technology》等顶级期刊,引发国际媒体广泛关注。


徐州工程学院的供应链管理专家Syed Abdul Rehman Khan教授探讨了物联网与区块链技术在环境治理中的应用。他指出,智能监测系统与绿色供应链的整合可大幅提升资源利用效率,并为全球碳中和目标提供数据支持。


在随后的口头报告环节,来自南京水利科学研究院、西安建筑科技大学、南京工业大学等16所机构的青年学者展示了最新研究成果。议题涵盖水体修复、土壤重金属治理、低碳材料开发等领域,凸显了环境科学研究的多样性与实践价值。


会议于当日17:40圆满落幕。组委会表示,EMER系列会议将持续搭建国际化学术平台,推动环境监测与生态修复技术的产学研融合,为全球生态安全贡献智慧。
